Life for the executive is very
different now...
-
Greater
pressure on fewer people to achieve more, working longer hours.
-
The changing
nature of work is a source of confusion for people. In the past work was something to be carried out in a separate place with a
well defined group of people. Now we are in closer relationships
with customers, suppliers and colleagues than ever before. This
requires a new management style.
-
Matrix
management has meant more teams of cross functional groups.
These teams are expected to achieve more in a shorter time. They
need to go beyond team roles to find the higher purpose of the team's
work. This has lead to coaching groups.
How
Corporate Coaching can help...
by
Anne Radford
"In
a world with all this change, a workplace where there are fewer executives
around and much "corporate wisdom" has gone, life can be very
lonely. The coach is the executive's window on the world - the coach
has knowledge of other companies and organisations. A good coach is
a source of expert business knowledge and examples - not pure theory!
The
coach is a sounding board, a place where the executive can try out ideas,
think them through and decide whether they would work. The coach and
executive work together to see how other people such as a team or group
might react to the new idea, to identify what might interest or be
valuable to them. This can help to launch a new idea in a confident
and successful way.
The
coach assists and challenges at the same time - as a neutral third
party. The coach listens and gives feedback and helps the executive
to think of all the options before making a selection and developing a
course of action. The coach helps the executive to get in touch with
the strategic, managerial and motivational reasons for his or her actions.
The Assessment appointment is COMPLIMENTARY
and for a 50-60 minutes coaching session,
which is usually once a week the fees will be negotiated.
You will be charged for
contracted appointments which you decide not to keep. If I have to cancel
a session, I will offer you an alternative appointment. If we cannot find
a mutually convenient time I will not charge you for the missed
session.
