JAMES HOUSE CHILDREN'S
HOME MISSION STATEMENT.
James House has two main
aims:
1. To provide a family support
resource by reaching into the community using appropriate measures to
preserve family life and encourage social
re-integration.
2. To provide residential care
for the needs of abused, abandoned and neglected children on both an
emergency and a long-term basis, with the vision of providing our youth
with on-going care.
VISION OF THE TRUST MANAGERS:
To
provide the best education available to 5 (or more) disadvantaged children
from James House Children's Home which will
make a difference in their lives and their community.
To ensure the
donations are only used for educational purposes and not for the
administration of the trust. The trust managers are all volunteers
and the trust employs NO paid staff.
TRUST MANAGERS:
1. Gail Sylvester - Founder &
Trustee is 42 years old (South African) is a Professional Life, Couple
Coach and Trainer with Coach
Partnership.
She has managed her
own business in model management, has been a Marketing Manager and a
Consultant to some of Europe's leading designers, manufacturers and
retailers.
She has worked
extensively as:

A Bereavement Counsellor with CRUSE UK.

A Certified Couple Counsellor with Relate UK.

A Trainer (designing and delivering courses)
-
A Professional Life Coach and member of Coach
University (USA).

Certified Coach
Facilitator with Corporate Coach U International.

Bruce Marvin – Trustee is 57 years old (British) an Estate Agent
and owner of Cape Premier Properties as well as a Professional Corporate
Coach with Coach
Partnership and has over 30 years experience in Management and People
development.
He was born, educated and
worked in England before living in South Africa where he was managing
partner of a fashion business, which was floated on the Johannesburg Stock
Exchange. He is also a
Certified Coach Facilitator with Coach U International.
3. Robert Walker
– 44 years old (South African) is the CEO of Ashanti Design &
Homeware.
He spent many years selling
commercial property until in 1989; he founded Tradewinds Parasols in Cape
Town. The company now employs
over 200 people, exports in excess of 90% of its production and in 1988
won The President’s Award for Export. He sold the company in 2000
and started Ashanti Design & Homeware.
4. Werner
de Waal – 33 years old (South African) is an Attorney
He has practised as a lawyer for the past
13 years and has been a trustee of several trusts and also advisors
clients about tax investments.
They have offices in Stellenbosch, Paarl,
Cape Town and Somerset West serving their large corporate client base.
In addition, Werner serves as a director to a law firm specialising
in acting for individuals from lower income groups.
